Independent responsibility for particularly challenging scientific tasks in research and teaching in the field of information systems engineering, as well as the conceptual further development of strategic research priorities within the overall strategy defined by the professorship. In this context, integrative scientific work on complex research questions at the intersection of distributed systems, software engineering, data management, and security engineering, with additional incorporation of economic perspectives of systems-oriented business informatics and industry-oriented application contexts. The position holder will play a key role in the development and scientifical shaping of the thematic field “Observability in AI-driven Systems”, including establishing the systematic development of methodological foundations for observability, transparency, and quality assurance of distributed, data-intensive, and AI-supported software systems, taking into account security-related and economic evaluation criteria. Responsibilities also include the independent conception of third-party funding research proposals as well as scientific project leadership and the coordination of scientific staff,all carried out under the overall responsibility of the professorship. In addition, the position holder is responsible for independent conception and execution of courses within the predefined module structure.
As part of gender equality and early career-support strategy, measures and concepts are to be developed to further strengthen the representation of women in computer science and business informatics.
The position is designed as a permanent role aimed to ensure the development of a strong scientific profile, curricular responsibility, and international networking.
