Research Associate / PostDoc (m/f/x)
starting October 1, 2026. The position is initially limited to 3 years, with the option of extension for up to a further 3 years following a positive evaluation. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (usually habilitation thesis).
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate innovative research ideas in the field of “Chemicals in the Environment”. Potential areas of focus may include water chemistry, data sciences, water technology, ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry or green chemistry. Tasks include securing external funding and independently teaching courses.
We are looking for a highly motivated early-career researcher with a university and PhD degree and a strong research background who is keen to pursue an academic career. In addition, we expect experience in securing external funding, as well as the willingness and ability to teach independently.
TUD supports early-career researchers through the “Young Investigators” program, which enables them to supervise PhD students independently at an early stage of their academic career.
