Within the framework of the international research project SAVE Water – GeoSpatial and Artificial Intelligence Technologies: Innovative Approach for Water Resources Management, Technische Universität Berlin develops data-driven approaches for sustainable water resources management under climate change conditions. The project addresses challenges such as water scarcity, pollution, and increasing resource-use conflicts through the application of geoinformation technologies, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence.
A key focus of this position is the investigation of water stress in urban trees by linking high-resolution time series from a multispectral phenocam with soil moisture and tree physiological measurements. In addition, remote sensing data will be combined with in-situ observations to estimate evapotranspiration across multiple spatial scales.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with above-average qualifications, a strong interest in research, and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary project environment. The Geoinformation Lab for Environmental Planning at Technische Universität Berlin offers a position as Research Assistant in the field of remote sensing and urban ecology.
The responsibilities of this position within the SAVE Water research project include:
