• Conduct integrative analyses of microbiome datasets to explore microbial communities and their
  functions within seeds.
• Perform microbiological experiments, including isolation, cultivation, and characterization of seed-
  associated microorganisms.
• Investigate the role of the seed microbiome in microbial inheritance and plant health.
• Contribute to scientific publications and the development of research proposals for external funding.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists in microbiology, molecular biology, and
  bioinformatics.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists, including Bachelor and Master students.
• Present research findings at national and international conferences.

• PhD in microbiology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
• Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis (e.g., metagenomics, amplicon
  sequencing) and its application to seed or plant microbiomes.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and familiarity with bioinformatics tools (e.g., QIIME2,
  DADA2, SILVA).
• Publication record demonstrating high-quality research in microbiome science or related fields,
  particularly plant or seed microbiomes.
• Knowledge of microbiological techniques, including cultivation and characterization of seed-
  associated microorganisms.
• Willingness to contribute to the preparation of research proposals and project reports.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
