Our research is devoted to the controlled synthesis, the characterization and to application scenarios of nanostructured materials with electro- and biofunctional properties. This advertised position is settled within the research interests of the Post graduate program "Integrated Energy Supply Modules for Roadbound E-Mobility", in short "mobilEM". The program is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and explores the physical foundations of electro-chemical energy storage and its combination with novel fuel-operated range extender units. Fuel-operated range extenders allow a reasonable dimensioning of the electrical energy storage system size and its thermal conditioning. Research within this program is highly interdisciplinary. Moreover, special qualification programs and lecture series allow gaining deeper insights of the scientific questions within this research topic.  

Research Associate (w/m/d)

Work­ing field:

  • Deve­lop­ment of new cathode mate­ri­als for Li-ion bat­te­ries
  • Che­mi­cal, elec­tro­che­mi­cal and elec­tri­cal cha­rac­te­ri­za­tion of the mate­ri­als (SEM/TEM, XRD, CV, RAMAN, FTIR, XPS, etc.)
  • Ana­ly­sis of struc­ture-pro­perty rela­ti­ons­hip
  • Pre­sen­ta­tion of results withn group semi­nars and pro­ject mee­tings

Require­ments:

  • Hol­der of a uni­ver­sity degree (mas­ter or equi­va­lent) in natu­ral or mate­ri­als sci­en­ces with above average scores.
  • Inte­rest in inno­va­tive and inter­di­sci­pli­nary topics.
  • Ide­ally expe­ri­ence in elec­tro­che­mi­cal pro­per­ties of bat­tery mate­ri­als
  • High level of respon­si­bi­lity, initia­tive and team spi­rit.
  • High moti­va­tion for con­duc­ting a PhD the­sis.

What we of­fer:

The posi­tion is to 3 years and is to be fil­led as soon as pos­si­ble. This is a part-time posi­tion (50% of the stan­dard wee­kly hours for full-time employees). It is pos­si­ble to upgrade the part-time posi­tion to 66% of the stan­dard wee­kly hours for full-time employees.

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date has the oppor­tu­nity to pur­sue a doc­to­ral degree.

The salary cor­re­sponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
