Im Her­zen der Lau­sitz ver­bin­det die BTU her­aus­ra­gende inter­na­tio­nale For­schung mit zukunfts­ori­en­tier­ter Lehre. Sie leis­tet mit Wis­sens-, Tech­no­lo­gie­trans­fer und Wei­ter­bil­dung einen wich­ti­gen Bei­trag für Gesell­schaft, Kul­tur und Wirt­schaft. Als Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät bie­tet die BTU ein bun­des­weit ein­zig­ar­ti­ges Lehr­kon­zept: Bei uns kön­nen Stu­di­en­gänge uni­ver­si­tär, fach­hoch­schu­lisch und dual stu­diert wer­den.


Work­ing field:

We are seek­ing applic­ants engaged in the His­tory of Archi­tec­ture in the entire range from the early high civil­iz­a­tions to the con­tem­por­ary. The can­did­ate will have exper­i­ence in car-rying out and con­duct­ing major research pro­jects in archae­olo­gical or his­tor­ical build­ing re-search in an inter­na­tional and inter­dis­cip­lin­ary con­text. One research focus must be in the area of Build­ing Archae­ology (Bauforschung).
The post holder will teach the com­puls­ory courses His­tory of Archi­tec­ture and Sur­vey within the cur­ricula at the Fac­ulty, in par­tic­u­lar »Archi­tec­ture« and »Urban Plan­ning«, as well as in the inter­na­tional mas­ter pro­grammes »World Her­it­age Stud­ies« and »Her­it­age Con­ser­va­tion and Site Man­age­ment«. The post holder will also be expec­ted to be engaged in the Research Train­ing Group 1913 »Cul­tural and Tech­no­lo­gical Sig­ni­fic­ance of His­toric Build­ings«.
In the activ­ity of gen­eral research, as well as in the teach­ing activ­ity, which is the­or­eti-cally foun­ded and ori­ented to prac­tical applic­a­tion, we expect the suc­cess­ful can­did­ate to closely col­lab­or­ate with the areas of Con­ser­va­tion, Con­struc­tion His­tory, and Cul­tural Ma-nage­ment. Fur­ther, close col­lab­or­a­tion also with national and inter­na­tional uni­versity and non-uni­versity research organ­iz­a­tions is expli­citly wel­come.
Teach­ing is required also in Eng­lish lan­guage. Can­did­ates are expec­ted to have own ex-per­i­ences in the acquis­i­tion of research grants and in car­ry­ing out own research pro­jects. The sub­jects of research should be rel­ev­ant for fund­ing by the DFG or by com­par­able inter­nati-onal research fund­ing insti­tu­tions.
Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Branden­bur­gisches Hoch­schul-gesetz (Higher Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Branden­burg – BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.
Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and real­iz­a­tion of third-party fun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. Fields of research should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG (Ger­man Research Found­a­tion) or simi-lar inter­na­tional research fund­ing organ­iz­a­tions. Lec­tures are primar­ily to be held in Ger-man, flu­ency in Eng­lish is expec­ted.


Applic­ants must have a Uni­versity degree in Archi­tec­ture, Urban Plan­ning, or in a compa-rable area, and must also have a qual­i­fied doc­toral degree in the area of archae­olo­gical or his­tor­ical build­ing research. Fur­ther, can­did­ates must pos­sess a sci­entific qual­i­fic­a­tion equi­val­ent to habil­it­a­tion.
