Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den - Cen­ter for Rege­ne­ra­tive The­ra­pies Dres­den (CRTD)

The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Chair (W3) of Models of Rege­ne­ra­tion

At the Cen­ter for Mole­cu­lar and Cel­lu­lar Bio­en­gi­nee­ring (CMCB), Cen­ter for Rege­ne­ra­tive The­ra­pies Dres­den (CRTD) the posi­tion of Chair (W3) of Models of Rege­ne­ra­tion is to be fil­led as soon as pos­si­ble.

The CRTD ( con­sists of 19 rese­arch and junior rese­arch groups working in the areas of Hae­ma­to­logy/lmmu­no­logy, Dia­be­tes, Neu­ro­de­ge­ne­ra­tive disea­ses as well as Bone rege­ne­ra­tion.

Work­ing field:

The hol­der of the chair should have an out­stan­ding inter­na­tio­nal repu­ta­tion in tis­sue rege­ne­ra­tion and stem cell rese­arch, and should con­duct modern mole­cu­lar and cel­lu­lar rese­arch using ver­te­brate model orga­nisms. The can­di­date is expec­ted to repre­sent the full spec­trum of the rese­arch area in aca­de­mic teaching. A wil­ling­ness and ability to con­duct clas­ses in Ger­man and Eng­lish is expec­ted. The duties include par­ti­ci­pa­tion in aca­de­mic sel­fad­mi­nis­tra­tion.


App­li­cants must ful­fil the employ­ment qua­li­fi­ca­tion requi­re­ments of § 58 of the Act Governing Aca­de­mic Free­dom in Hig­her Edu­ca­tion in the Free State of Sax­ony (Saxon Aca­de­mic Free­dom in Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act – SächsHSFG). Pre­re­qui­si­tes include a uni­ver­sity degree in natu­ral sci­en­ces or medi­cine, a doc­to­ral degree and a habi­li­ta­tion or equi­va­lent qua­li­fi­ca­tion record. The posi­tion fur­ther requi­res pre­vious teaching expe­ri­ence, an out­stan­ding inter­na­tio­nal track record in sci­en­ti­fic rese­arch and publi­ca­ti­ons, and in acqui­red third-party fun­ding.

The Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den pro­vi­des a rich envi­ron­ment for sci­en­ti­fic col­la­bo­ra­tion inclu­ding the Bio­tech­no­logy Centre and the Centre of Inno­va­tion Com­pe­tence B CUBE, the Faculty of Medi­cine Carl Gus­tav Carus and the School of Sci­ence. The „Dres­den Inter­na­tio­nal Gra­duate School of Bio­me­di­cine and Bio­en­gi­nee­ring" as well as non-uni­ver­sity rese­arch insti­tu­tes such as the Max Planck Insti­tute of Mole­cu­lar Cell Bio­logy and Gene­tics, Paul-Lan­ger­hans-lnsti­tute Dres­den, Ger­man Cen­ter for Neu­ro­de­ge­ne­ra­tive Disea­ses and the Leib­niz Insti­tute of Poly­mer Rese­arch Dres­den offer addi­tio­nal oppor­tu­nities for col­la­bo­ra­tion in the highly inter­ac­tive rese­arch envi­ron­ment in Dres­den.
