The overall aim of the ForestOvershoot joint project is to quantify the potential and timing of negative emissions through forest management and innovative uses of wood in the construction sector in Germany — taking into account increasing forest disturbance risks, changing climatic conditions and management strategies, as well as overshooting (i.e. exceeding climate targets).
The aim of the sub-project is to estimate the carbon storage potential of conventional and innovative wood products, along with the associated carbon emissions in the German construction sector under various scenarios.
