Research Assistant - salary grade 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

Your responsibility:

  • Research and publication activities in the fields of the research unit, e.g., change of institutions, organizations and practices in higher education in the context of diversity (from an intersectional perspective), datafication and digitality and digitalization (e.g. use of AI-driven tools)
  • Assisting research proposal writing and science communication in the research unit
  • Teaching and examination in the modules offered at the Institute of Education (teaching currently amounts to 4 SWS)
  • Work on own qualification (Dissertation)

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Staatsexamen, Diplom or equivalent) in educational sciences, cultural studies, political science, sociology, or a related subject
  • Knowledge on educational and/or digitalization topics
  • Very good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative social research methods
  • Ideas for a doctoral project in the above research unit
  • Excellent teamwork, organization and communication skills, structured, responsible, and independent work ethics as well as high motivation to perform are desired
  • Sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in German and/or English is expected; willingness to learn either English or German is expected
  • Interested in learning about and using new research methods and topics is desired
  • Interested in learning and using international and comparative research perspectives
  • Experience in higher education didactics and/or willing to attend resprective trainings is a plus
  • Experience in the creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) or willingness to learn how to do so desirable
  • Programming skills advantageous or motivation to learn them
