DB InfraGO AG – Endowed Chair (W3) of Civil Engineering

At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Institute of Concrete Structures invites applications for the
DB InfraGO AG – Endowed Chair (W3) of Civil Engineering

Working field:

The endowed chair is intended to raise the profile of a scientific field at TUD that makes an important contribution to the future viability of infrastructure and, in particular, to the sustainable and resource-efficient maintenance and further development of bridge structures. In addition, the interdisciplinary cooperation between the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is to be strengthened. The founder of the endowed chair, DB InfraGo, wishes to actively support the work of the endowed chair through joint research activities. The obtained research results are to be implemented as directly as possible in DB InfraGo's practical projects. Upon the expiration of the funding period on September 30, 2036, the endowed chair at TUD will be continued as a full professorship (W3).

We seek applicants (m/f/x) who are committed to representing the scientific fields of structural engineering and bridge construction in research and teaching. In addition, you will be involved in the management of the Institute of Concrete Structures and lead several research groups in the field of structural engineering. In teaching, you will primarily be involved in the diploma degree program in Civil Engineering, including the distance learning program in Civil Engineering, as well as the English-language Master's degree program in Advanced Computational and Civil Engineering Structural Studies (ACCESS). Due to the research orientation of the endowed chair, the teaching obligation is set at two semester hours per week within the first five years. You will have the opportunity to use the very well-equipped Otto Mohr Laboratory to carry out experimental studies. We expect you to successfully acquire third-party funding from state, federal (DFG, BMBF, etc.) or EU funding as well as from industry.
