Your responsibility:

Participation in an interdisciplinary research team in the control engineering department, in cooperation with the process engineering department, in the field of control of process engineering systems. Specifically, the mass transfer in liquid/liquid systems and subsequent separation should be modeled and controlled. This includes modeling the system dynamics based on step responses model-based optimal trajectory planning with time-varying stirring speeds and varying volume flows, optimal and robust control for batch operation and the continuously operated stirring tank.
The opportunity to do a doctorate is given.

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed university degree in engineering (diploma, master or equivalent)
  • Extensive specialist knowledge of control technology, particularly control in the time domain
  • Programming experience with MATLAB
  • Basic knowledge of mass transfer and basic process engineering operations is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently, systematically and practically in an interdisciplinary work group are desirable
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
