Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Research in the rendezvous and docking laboratory
  • responsible execution of classes in the bachelor’s and master's programs (in English, German is a plus)
  • supervision of students in the context of student projects as well as final theses
  • coordination activities at the Department of Astronautics
  • acquisition and execution of third party-funded projects

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in the STEM field
  • knowledge of satellite technology and satellite subsystem
  • experience in at least one of the following areas required: Guidance, Navigation, and Control or Formation Flight or Docking or Robotics or Artificial Intelligence
  • experience in the practical design and execution of experimental equipment
  • the ability to teach in German and/or English is a prerequisite; willingness to acquire the missing language skills in each case

Desirable:

  • degree in aerospace engineering
  • familiarity with fundamentals of electronics engineering and experience with embedded programming is a plus
