Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Work in research and teaching at the Institute of Mathematics (Differential Equations), including teaching of exercise classes (4 SWS for a full-time position).

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Very good in-depth knowledge of the theory of differential equations (proven by a corresponding specialisation in the studies), especially on nonlinear problems, functional analytical methods and function spaces, discretisation methods, applications in continuum mechanics (e.g. mathematical fluid dynamics, elasticity theory, non-local models)
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.

Desirable:

  • Communicative and co-operative working style.
  • Teaching experience is desired.
