Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:
The Berlin Ethics Lab is filling a position to work on the inter- and transdisciplinary research project “PureMobility - A Human-Centered Turn to Responsible Urban Mobility by Transformative Vision Design”, funded by the Berlin University Alliance as part of its Grand Challenge “Responsible Innovation in Times of Transformation”. The Berlin Ethics Lab brings philosophical reflection into a close working relationship with disciplines that develop and use new technologies to better understand their impact. As a bridge between philosophy and the technological sciences, our group's research combines two perspectives on the development and use of technologies. In theoretical philosophy, we investigate the methodology and dynamics of knowledge in the design disciplines, the epistemology of human-machine and human-AI interaction, and the epistemology of inter- and transdisciplinarity. In practical philosophy, our group combines expertise in technology ethics with methods of transformative technology assessment. In our research, we uncover the complex relationships between visions, values, design and artifacts in order to reflect on and evaluate their impact on our living environment from an ethical perspective. We bring together stakeholders from research, art and society to pave the way for a sustainable and responsible design of future technologies.
Our working languages are English and German. There is the possibility of a doctorate. Your doctoral project within the research profile of the group will be supervised by the head of the department. Further information: https://www.tu.berlin/philtech
