We are looking to fill the position of a research assistant / PostDoc in the field of in the field of process and material flow analysis, techno-economic assessment and life cycle assessment (LCA) at the earliest opportunity. Researcher (w/m/d)

Work­ing field:

  • Mode­ling and techno-eco­no­mic as well as eco­lo­gi­cal assess­ment of pro­ces­ses and sup­ply chains with prac­ti­cal app­li­ca­ti­ons in the fields of bio eco­nomy, bio-based fuels and power-to-fuels
  • Ana­ly­sis of pro­duc­tion and sup­ply net­works ran­ging from raw mate­ri­als and pro­duc­tion to the logistics of final pro­ducts
  • Pre­sen­ta­tion of results wit­hin pro­ject mee­tings and at inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces
  • Pre­pa­ra­tion of sci­en­ti­fic papers for peer-reviewed jour­nals
  • Super­vi­sion of stu­dents


  • You have com­ple­ted a Mas­ter’s degree or PhD in the area of Manage­ment and Eco­no­mics, Engi­nee­ring or Natu­ral Sci­ence with great suc­cess.
  • You are expe­ri­en­ced in mate­rial flow ana­ly­sis, techno-eco­no­mic assess­ment, LCA as well as mode­ling and opti­mi­za­tion of pro­ces­ses and sup­ply net­works.
  • Exper­tise of an opti­mi­za­tion lan­guage or MAT­LAB / Simu­link as well as know­ledge of LCA soft­ware is pre­fer­red.
  • You are inte­rested in the ana­ly­sis, mode­ling, and eva­lua­tion of dif­fe­rent pro­cess and pro­duc­tion paths inclu­ding their pro­duc­tion and recy­cling pro­ces­ses with regard to techno-eco­no­mic and eco­lo­gi­cal fac-tors.
  • Your work is cha­rac­te­ri­zed by initia­tive, self-moti­va­tion, com­mit­ment, abi­lity to work in a team, and social skills.
  • You have good com­mand of Eng­lish.
  • An auto­no­mous and struc­tu­red way of working as well as ana­ly­ti­cal thin­king com­plete your pro­file.

What we of­fer:

The posi­tion is 2 years and is to be fil­led as soon as pos­si­ble. An exten­sion for ano­t­her year is inten­ded This is a full-time posi­tion.

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date has the oppor­tu­nity to pur­sue a doc­to­ral degree.

The salary cor­re­sponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
