The I. Institute for Physics of the RWTH Aachen is a member of the LHCb collaboration and a major contributor to the development and construction of the SciFi tracker, the large tracker for the LHCb upgrade. The LHCb Aachen group is constantly growing and consists of several PostDocs, PhD students and undergraduate students. We aim to further strengthen our profile in the area of data analysis with focus on searches for processes beyond the Standard Model with rare decays.
Postdoctoral Research Assistant / Associate (w/m/d)
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute in a leading role to the analysis of rare decays at the LHCb experiment. This includes the development of analysis strategies and their successful implementation and the supervision of undergraduate and Ph. D. students. The candidate is also expected to actively participate in the data taking of the LHCb experiment.
Applicants must have, or be about to obtain, a doctorate/Ph. D. or equivalent in experimental particle physics. Extensive experience in data analysis and profound knowledge of heavy flavour physics and searches for phenomena beyond the Standard Model are essential. The position is for 3 years and is to be filled as soon as possible. An extension for a second term of 3 years is possible.
This is a full-time position.
The salary corresponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
