Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den - Centre for Infor­ma­tion Ser­vices and High Per­for­mance Com­pu­ting (ZIH)

Die TU Dres­den ist eine der elf Exzel­len­z­u­ni­ver­sitä­ten Deut­sch­lands. Als Voll­u­ni­ver­sität mit brei­tem Fächer­spek­trum zählt sie zu den for­schungs­s­tärks­ten Hoch­schu­len. Aus­tau­sch und Koope­ra­tion zwi­schen den Wis­sen­schaf­ten, mit Wirt­schaft und Gesell­schaft sind dafür die Grund­lage. Ziel ist es, im Wett­be­werb der Uni­ver­sitä­ten auch in Zukunft Spit­zen­plätze zu bele­gen. 2 Deve­lo­pers for HPC Sys­tem Manage­ment App­li­ca­ti­ons

The Centre for Infor­ma­tion Ser­vices and High Per­for­mance Com­pu­ting (ZIH) offers two posi­ti­ons as Deve­lo­per for HPC Sys­tem Manage­ment App­li­ca­ti­ons (Sub­ject to per­so­nal qua­li­fi­ca­tion employees are remu­ne­ra­ted accord­ing to salary group E 11 TV-L)
star­ting imme­dia­tely. The posi­ti­ons initi­ally are limi­ted until 31.03.2022 (time limi­ta­tion pur­suant to TzBfG). Balan­cing family and career is an important issue. The posi­ti­ons are basi­cally sui­ta­ble for can­di­da­tes see­king part-time employ­ment.
As cen­tral sci­en­ti­fic insti­tu­tion of the TU Dres­den, ZIH is respon­si­ble for the com­mu­ni­ca­tion infra­st­ruc­ture of the Uni­ver­sity, and ope­ra­tes the cen­tral IT infra­st­ruc­ture, inclu­ding ser­vices and ser­vers. In addi­tion, with its inter­di­sci­pli­nary ori­en­ta­tion, ZIH sup­ports other depart­ments and insti­tu­ti­ons in their rese­arch and edu­ca­tion for all mat­ters rela­ted to infor­ma­tion tech­no­logy and com­pu­ter sci­ence.

Work­ing field:

admi­nis­tra­tion and main­ten­ance of high-per­for­mance com­pu­ters; deve­lop­ment, test, and sup­port of site-spe­ci­fic soft­ware (e.g. Django web por­tal, plugins for SLURM batch sys­tem); instal­la­tion and main­ten­ance of sci­en­ti­fic app­li­ca­ti­ons; sup­port of HPC users.

Require­ments:

pro­fes­sio­nal gra­duate degree in com­pu­ter sci­ence, mathe­ma­tics, or simi­lar; expe­ri­en­ces in the admi­nis­tra­tion of Linux sys­tems, know­ledge in pro­gramming (Python, C, Bash), high level of com­mit­ment in the fami­lia­ri­za­tion with new sys­tems and fields of activity; good Eng­lish lan­guage skills as well as good com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills in sup­por­ting sci­en­tists, and excel­lent team work skills.
