The interdiciplinary cluster of excellence "Fuel Science Center" - Adaptive Conversion Systems for Renewable Energy and Carbon Sources", is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) within the framework of the Excellence Initiative at the RWTH. The overall aim is the development of innovative engine concepts for highly efficient and clean combustion, utilizing the combination of renewable electricity and "bio-hybrid fuels" (http://www.fuelcenter.rwth-aachen.de/go/id/irmy/?). In this context our aim is the development of adaptive catalysts and catalytic systems for the exhaust aftertreatment of advanced combustion processes.
We offer a 2-year Post Doctoral Researcher position in an international and highly interdiciplinary network with fellow researchers.
Post Doctoral Researcher
Project management responsables. Including supervision of the project progress, communication with project partners, presentation of results and help PhD students involved in this topic.
Preparing of results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Attending seminars and meetings within the FSC.
Preparation of multifunctional LnMO3 (Ln=lanthanide elements; M=transition metals) perovskite catalysts.
Implementation of mechanistic studies applying in situ IS and IS-DRIFTS, operando IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy (both in reflection mode) measurements.
Investigation of potential structure-interaction-reactivity correlations and identifying potential descriptors for fast catalyst screening by investigation of the interactions between the gaseous exhaust species and perovskite catalysts.
Investigation of the influence of microwave irradiation on the low-temperature catalytic performance.
Applicants must have a doctorate/Ph.D. or equivalent.
Holder of a PhD in natural sciences of material sciences.
Holder of a university degree in natural or materials sciences with above average scores.
Interest in innovative and interdisciplinary topics.
High sense of responsibility, strong communication skills, initiative and team spirit.
The position is 2 years and is to be filled as soon as possible. This is a full-time position.
The salary corresponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
