The rese­arch prio­ri­ties of the Insti­tute of Energy Effi­ci­ency and Sustainable Buil­ding E3D are rela­ted to buil­ding per­for­mance simu­la­tion and district energy per­for­mance simu­la­tion, the deve­lop­ment of nume­ri­cal models, Buil­ding Infor­ma­tion Mode­ling (BIM), mode­ling and simu­la­tion of buil­ding phy­sics pro­ces­ses, energy moni­to­ring as well as rese­arch in the field of occup­ant beha­vior and ther­mal ergo­no­mics inclu­ding phy­sio­logy and sen­sor deve­lop­ment. The insti­tute con­sists of an inter­di­sci­pli­nary rese­arch team and offers fun­da­men­tal and indus­try-ori­en­ted rese­arch, inter­na­tio­nal con­tacts and a modern working envi­ron­ment with uni­que rese­arch and tes­ting faci­li­ties. 

Research Assistant/Associate

Auf­ga­ben­be­sch­rei­bung:

  • Working on pro­jects in the fields of ther­mal ergo­no­mics, simu­la­tion of human ther­mal phy­sio­logy, mode­ling in the field of ther­mal com­fort, assess­ment of indoor cli­mate con­di­ti­ons by means of expe­ri­ments with test sub­jects, sta­tis­ti­cal eva­lua­ti­ons of sur­veys, buil­ding con­trol engi­nee­ring
  • Col­la­bo­ra­tion with inter­na­tio­nal sci­en­tists from dif­fe­rent disci­pli­nes
  • Pre­sen­ta­tion and publi­ca­tion of rese­arch results at inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces and in inter­na­tio­nal jour­nals
  • Par­ti­ci­pa­tion in tea­ching and insti­tute ope­ra­tion

Er­war­te­te Qua­li­fi­ka­tio­nen:

  • Uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter or equi­va­lent) in the field of Sci­ence, Tech­no­logy, Engi­nee­ring and Mathe­ma­tics (STEM), medi­cal engi­nee­ring or com­pa­ra­ble disci­pli­nes
  • Know­ledge requi­red in one or more of the fol­lo­wing areas: ther­mal ergo­no­mics, human ther­mal phy­sio­logy, ther­mal com­fort (buil­ding, vehi­cle, air­craft, etc.), indoor cli­mate, con­trol engi­nee­ring, nume­ri­cal simu­la­tion (indoor air flows and air qua­lity, heat and mass trans­fer pro­ces­ses, cau­sal or acau­sal mode­ling lan­guages such as Mode­lica, etc.), sen­sor tech­no­logy, sta­tis­ti­cal methods for expe­ri­men­tal eva­lua­tion
  • Very good Ger­man and Eng­lish skills
  • Abi­lity to work in inter­di­sci­pli­nary teams and to take respon­si­bi­lity
  • Wil­ling­ness to tra­vel
  • Inte­rest in fur­ther sci­en­ti­fic qua­li­fi­ca­tion (Ph.D.)

Un­ser An­ge­bot:

The posi­tion is for two years and is to be fil­led as soon as pos­si­ble. A con­ti­nua­tion of the posi­tion of at least one year is inten­ded. This is a full-time posi­tion.

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date has the oppor­tu­nity to pur­sue a doc­to­ral degree.

The salary cor­re­sponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
