Work­ing field:

This is primar­ily a sci­entific pos­i­tion in the Dis­trib­uted Secur­ity Infra­struc­tures group. In par­tic­u­lar, the pos­i­tion involves work­ing on and the rep­res­ent­a­tion of an inter­dis­cip­lin­ary pro­ject on pri­vacy-com­pli­ant people ana­lyt­ics. The ideal can­did­ate will con­duct research in the fields of Dis­trib­uted Secur­ity, Pri­vacy-Enhan­cing Tech­no­lo­gies, Soft­ware Engin­eer­ing, and related top­ics. This spe­cific­ally includes the imple­ment­a­tion of sys­tem pro­to­types and the pub­lic­a­tion of sci­entific papers. The pos­i­tion includes the option to pre­pare a PhD thesis in the men­tioned research areas.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in com­puter sci­ence with a focus on com­mu­nic­a­tion sys­tems or soft­ware engin­eer­ing
  • Exper­i­ence in at least one of the research areas: Dis­trib­uted Ledger Tech­no­lo­gies, Cryp­to­graphy, Dis­trib­uted Secur­ity, Pri­vacy-Enhan­cing Tech­no­lo­gies, and per­sonal data pro­tec­tion/pri­vacy.
  • Deep under­stand­ing of pro­cess mod­el­ing
  • Know­ledge on state-of-the-art anonym­iz­a­tion tech­niques, data base sys­tems, data integ­ra­tion and access con­trol meth­ods
  • Excel­lent pro­gram­ming skills and exper­i­ence in devel­op­ment/admin­is­tra­tion of dis­trib­uted sys­tems

Addi­tional Require­ments:
  • Pas­sion for new tech­no­lo­gies, sys­tem devel­op­ment, and dis­trib­uted sys­tem exper­i­ments
  • Excel­lent organ­iz­a­tional and com­mu­nic­a­tion skills
  • Very good writ­ten and oral lan­guage skills in Eng­lish (at least C1) and Ger­man (at least B2)
  • Will­ing­ness to con­duct inter­dis­cip­lin­ary research
