Starting date is 1. April 2020.
The future holder of this position should represent the full range of the field in research as well as in teaching in Bachelor and Master programs at the Faculty of Biology. It is expected that the candidate is willing to teach in English and German and contributes to the academic selfadministration. Active participation in transdisciplinary projects and close cooperation with non-university research institutions within the Dresden concept is highly appreciated.
The applicant is expected to be an internationally distinguished person with a high future potential, a research profile in the field of Zoology, particularly physiology, an excellent publication track record, didactical skills and a proven ability to acquire significant third-party funding. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (Higher Education Act of the Free State of Saxony – SächsHSFG). Requirements for an appointment are a completed university degree, pedagogical suitability, a particular aptitude for academic work, generally accounted for by the quality of a doctorate/PhD as well as further outstanding academic achievements. These are, for example, a habilitation, a position as junior professor or equivalent achievements.
