Work­ing field:

Col­lab­or­a­tion in research and teach­ing (BA Sc., MA Sc. And M-Arch-T) of the depart­ment, applic­a­tions for research pro­jects, organ­iz­a­tion of con­fer­ences, work­shops and sum­mer schools, edit­ing of pub­lic­a­tions, super­vi­sion of doc­toral stu­dents.
The research interest of the archi­tec­tural the­ory depart­ment is in the field of crit­ical epi­stem­o­logy and philo­sophy of archi­tec­ture. At its core, the­ory acts as a model and mat­rix of the pro­cess of think­ing about archi­tec­ture, between con­cep­tual-cre­at­ive, mater­ial-con­struct­ive, and cul­tural-social prac­tice. The research applies to the sys­tem­iz­a­tion and spe­cific­a­tion of meth­ods of archi­tec­tural the­ory, philo­sophy of sci­ence, media the­ory (dia­gram­matic and media agency) and the­ory of his­tory between philo­sophy, epi­stem­o­logy, digital human­it­ies, eth­ics, semi­ot­ics and anthro­po­logy. The depart­ment main­tains close research col­lab­or­a­tions with uni­versit­ies in Italy, Japan, Israel and the USA.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and doc­tor­ate in archi­tec­ture or philo­sophy with rel­ev­ant exper­i­ence in both fields. Exper­i­ence with research applic­a­tions and the acquis­i­tion of third-party funds, as well as study or research stays abroad. Very good know­ledge of Ger­man and Eng­lish (oral and writ­ten), know­ledge of for­eign lan­guages, and the abil­ity to work in a team are required.
