The depart­ment "Design­ing and Engin­eer­ing - Com­pos­ite Struc­tures" researches and teaches at the Insti­tute of Civil Engin­eer­ing at the TU Ber­lin. An import­ant research focus is on top­ics of mod­ern tim­ber engin­eer­ing and hybrid Con­struc­tions with wood.

Work­ing field:

Col­lab­or­a­tion in cross-mater­ial research incl. Work on the plan­ning, imple­ment­a­tion and eval­u­ation of extens­ive invest­ig­a­tions in the field of wood-con­crete com­pos­ite ceil­ings. The res­ults must be eval­u­ated sci­en­tific­ally and pro­cessed in reports and sci­entific pub­lic­a­tions. Col­lab­or­a­tion in the organ­iz­a­tion and admin­is­tra­tion of R & D activ­it­ies. Super­vi­sion of theses and guid­ance of stu­dent assist­ants. The pos­sib­il­ity for the dis­ser­ta­tion on the basis of the pro­ject res­ults exists.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in the field of civil engin­eer­ing; in-depth know­ledge in struc­tural engin­eer­ing with a focus on tim­ber con­struc­tion or con­crete tech­no­logy; Interest in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary work in the fields of con­struc­tion and archi­tec­ture as well as related engin­eer­ing sci­ences; above-aver­age com­mit­ment to teach­ing and research; inde­pend­ent sci­entific method of work­ing; strong com­mu­nic­a­tion and team skills; Prob­lem-solv­ing think­ing
