Uni­ver­sity Pro­fes­sor - salary grade W 3

for the chair of "Energy Engin­eer­ing and Cli­mate Pro­tec­tion".

Work­ing field:

Teach­ing in the area of ther­mo­dy­nam­ics and energy engin­eer­ing fun­da­ment­als for sev­eral Bach­elor and Mas­ter pro­grams. Clas­ses have to be taught in Ger­man and Eng­lish.
Rese­arch shall be con­duc­ted in the field of energy engin­eer­ing on the fol­low­ing top­ics:
  • Optim­isa­tion of dyna­mic energy con­ver­sion sys­tems with respect to imple­ment­a­tion of renew­ables and the con­sequent inter­mit­tent sup­ply of elec­tri­city and heat
  • devel­op­ment and eval­u­ation of advan­ced energy con­ver­sion sys­tems
  • devel­op­ment and app­lic­a­tion of meth­ods for ana­lysis and optim­iz­a­tion hereto


Can­did­ates must ful­fill the require­ments for appoint­ment at the pro­fes­sor level in com­pli­ance with § 100 Ber­lHG (Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act) [inform­a­tion sheet avail­able by request], includ­ing a com­ple­ted aca­demic edu­ca­tion, qual­i­fied achieve­ments in rese­arch (PhD), post-doc­toral lec­ture qual­i­fic­a­tion (Habil­it­a­tion) or equi­val­ent qual­i­fic­a­tion (e.g. doc­u­men­ted by qual­ity of sci­ent­i­fic papers) and ped­ago­gical didac­tic qual­i­fic­a­tions, to be given proof of by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for more inform­a­tion see TUB web­site, quick access no. 144242).

Rese­arch exper­i­ence in the afore­men­tio­ned top­ics of energy engin­eer­ing and broad and deep know­ledge of com­plex optim­iz­a­tion meth­ods, as well as exper­i­ence with human resource man­age­ment and in acquis­i­tion and man­aging of pro­jects in a res­pons­ible pos­i­tion is requi­red.
