Das Fraun­ho­fer-Insti­tut für Inte­grierte Schal­tun­gen IIS in Erlan­gen ist eine welt­weit füh­rende anwen­dungs­ori­en­tierte For­schungs­ein­rich­tung für mikro­elek­tro­ni­sche und infor­ma­ti­ons­tech­ni­sche Sys­tem­lö­sun­gen und Dienst­leis­tun­gen. Es ist heute das größte Insti­tut der Fraun­ho­fer-Gesell­schaft. Unter ande­rem mit der maß­geb­li­chen Betei­li­gung an der Ent­wick­lung der Audio­co­dier­ver­fah­ren mp3 und MPEG AAC ist das Fraun­ho­fer IIS welt­weit bekannt gewor­den.

In enger Koope­ra­tion mit den Auf­trag­ge­bern betrei­ben die Wis­sen­schaft­ler inter­na­tio­nale Spit­zen­for­schung in den For­schungs­fel­dern Audio und Medi­en­tech­no­lo­gien, Bild­sys­teme, Ener­gie­ma­nage­ment, IC-Design und Ent­wurfs­au­to­ma­ti­sie­rung, Kom­mu­ni­ka­ti­ons­sys­teme, Loka­li­sie­rung, Medi­zin­tech­nik, Sen­sor­sys­teme, Sicher­heits­tech­nik, Ver­sor­gungs­ket­ten sowie Zer­stö­rungs­freie Prü­fung.

Work­ing for us, you will have the chance to develop the pro­duc­tion soft­ware for the next gen­er­a­tion of mul­ti­me­dia formats. You will plan and design soft­ware archi­tec­tures and cre­ate, imple­ment, and test graphic user inter­faces. In addi­tion, you will imple­ment soft­ware mod­ules across plat­forms together with an inter­na­tional team. We use our own solu­tions and thus also your solu­tions world­wide in the field of pro­fes­sional film pro­duc­tion and film post­pro­duc­tion.

About us
The Mov­ing Pic­ture Tech­no­lo­gies depart­ment devel­ops new tech­no­lo­gies for film and tele­vi­sion pro­duc­tion to provide film pro­du­cers and artists with new options for mul­ti­me­dia design and nar­rat­ive style. The »Digital Cinema« group con­ducts research into new mul­ti­me­dia formats for use in pro­fes­sional film post­pro­duc­tion right up to the play­out in the cinema.


The fol­low­ing makes you the ideal can­did­ate for the pos­i­tion
– A degree in com­puter sci­ences, media tech­no­logy, elec­trical engin­eer­ing, or a com­par­able engin­eer­ing or nat­ural sci­ence sub­ject
– Well-versed in C/C++ pro­gram­ming
– Sound know­ledge of Visual Stu­dio/Xcode
– Famili­ar­ity with com­mon mul­ti­me­dia formats
– Know­ledge in Qt would be an advant­age
– Good com­mand of spoken and writ­ten Eng­lish

The pos­i­tion is also suit­able for career entrants with cor­res­pond­ing prior know­ledge and rel­ev­ant exper­i­ence gained dur­ing work-exper­i­ence place­ments, stu­dent research pro­jects, or theses.

Frame­work con­di­tions
Employ­ment, remu­ner­a­tion, and social bene­fits are in line with the col­lect­ive bar­gain­ing agree­ment for the pub­lic sec­tor (TVöD). The pos­i­tion is ini­tially lim­ited to two years.
