Leonardo-Sachsen - Internationale Programme

Leonardo-Sachsen, as an institution of TU Dresden, is the central point of contact for students and staff of the Saxon Erasmus+ University Consortium for internships abroad and international practical experience.

The Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (STIPT) is organized by Leonardo-Sachsen. Applications for wintersemester 2026/27 are welcome until December 12, 2025!

Working field:

Would you like to gain unique insights into cutting-edge production and research in the semiconductor industry while acquiring important skills for your professional career? You are studying at an eligible university? Then apply for the Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (STIPT). This program is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK), the TU Dresden, and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC).

Requirements:

Students from eligible universities in Saxony and nationwide who are enrolled at one of the participating universities listed below and who are studying STEM subjects in specific disciplines are eligible to apply. The specific disciplines are listed in detail in the current announcements.

In Addition:

  • you must be enrolled in a full-time program and remain so for the entire duration of participation (= degree orientation),
  • you already have completed at least one full semester at one of the participating universities in Germany, and
  • by the time of participation in the program, you have a grade point average of at least 2.3 on your transcript of records (TOR) from your German university, and you have completed at least:
    - the 4th semester of a bachelor’s degree,
    - the 2nd semester of a master’s degree,
    - the 5th semester of a diploma degree.

The program is aimed at students of STEM subjects in the areas of:

  • Microelectronics
  • Nanoelectronics
  • Materials Science
  • Mechatronics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Equipment Engineering
  • Automation Technology / Automation Engineering
  • Robotics
  • Sensor Technology
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

What we offer:

It includes a study program as well as practical training at TSMC, a global leader in the semiconductor sector. You will be supported with a living and travel allowance.
